Buying your first E-bike? – Ebike Europe

Buy your first e-bike?

Here is what to pay attention without headaches 👉10

That’s when you decided to grab and buy your first e-bike. Good choice! But now there is a complex bit: Which one? Walk to the store or browse online and you will find everything from the pendulum migrants of the town to the terrestrial hoods … and all with names like “Ecopower X5” or “Turbo Urban+”. It is enough to make your head spin before the wheels even rotate.

Don’t worry. We divide it into simple things to think about – not, I promise.

1. What kind of riding do you makeTo?

Be honest with yourself here. Are you:

  • Pooting from the city?
  • Are you going to rural adventures?
  • Placing to work?
  • Going a couple of e-bicycle holidays?
  • All of the above?

If you are mostly on the roads or on smooth paths, a a city or hybrid-e-bike It is on the spot – normal, practical and usually with handy accessories such as mud and shelves. If you want a bit of rough landscape or want to drive through forests and fields, see e-hill bicyclesTo. And if everything is about speed and efficiency, they are also e-road bicycles– although they are lighter in convenience and heavier in terms of price.

2. Step by step or a cross beam?

It’s easy. Saving bicycles (low frame) are great if you want to jump in and out without swinging your feet like gymnastics. They are ideal for wearing regular clothes and wearing shopping. Crossbar’s frames are slightly more athletic and may feel more stable on longer rides. Decide what you want before buying, keep in mind that your hips and knees may not be as good as in 5 years!

3. Battery and range – how far can you go?

The bigger battery gives you more choice, but it also adds more weight. Most beginners are well suited for a 400-500Wh battery, which gives you a helping riding about 60-100 km, depending on the landscape, efforts and energy levels. You can see what excursions I do and my battery is 625Wh. If I were buying a new EBIKE, I would go the maximum I could, but again I ride a bicycle every vacation, weekend and day trip or shopping.

You don’t have to get the most out of here if you don’t do multi -day tours or live halfway through the hill. However, make sure the battery is removable – it is easier to charge indoors instead of trying to find a plug outside or in the garage.

4. Middle or hub engine?

To be too ghosted:

  • Medium -time engines (in the middle, near the pedals) are smooth, effective and better on the mountains. They are often found on valuable models.
  • Hub engines (Wheel) are simpler and cheaper – perfect for flat -range rides and everyday use.

If you are in Austria or somewhere with a soggy hill, it is worth taking a little more to buy an average drive. Mine? I have an average engine, but you can see what riding on my blog.

5. Try before buying

It’s big. E-foot bikes feel different for ordinary bicycles, zippier and more powerful. Try some models if you can. Most decent shops offers test trips. If not, go somewhere else, it’s a big expense and you should get the best service where people sell it knowledge and patience. Test ride is the best way to know what seems right. Do not go to Ald’s shopping and will get into the average aisle to buy EBIKE; You need to try these bicycles to find out that this is right. My blog will have a handy checklist next week when you are testing the e-bike.

Think of comfort

Do not seduce a sporty look if what you really want is a nice, upright riding position and a slack saddle. Trust me – your back and bum thank you. What makes it comes to Lamborghini if you actually need a VW Polot because it is more practical for your lifestyle and you can afford it! It has the same e-bike.

My 4 best tips

  • Match the bicycle with your lifestyle.
  • Do not overcome it.
  • Be sure to try it.
  • Take the basics correctly and slide you quickly – with a big stupid grin.

More tips on gear, excursions and routes are coming soon – installed!

Next week – A simple checklist when you try to ride an e-bike.
