Leatt launches its own line of MTB components
Leatt Has now officially entered the component market. Not quite an unexpected step with a brand that many had seen products last year’s Eurobike.
Now they have released many MTB components: pedals, stems, handles and handles-top line “Leatt” is made of ceramag, ceramic-coated magnesium alloy.
You probably think:“Why did the security and clothing brand begin to create components?!” It all depends on Tech Geeks, who want to make cool items.Founder of Leatt dr. Chris Leatt is the XC enthusiast and weight Weenie. He sat down with Leatt product managers to create light but strong components. So they went into their record in the component category.
It started with the question: why not use magnesium alloy, such as what is most commonly used in the lowland of forks and parts of aircraft? The original idea was to create only magnesium stem, but why not add pedals? And why didn’t you offer aluminum versions, no magnesium?
What felt like a great idea, became a tasteless development and test process. Magnesium is quite complex at the level of production. The project has doubled the development to the market time zone (four, not two years), but the final product is worth waiting for – Leatt
Flat pedals
Flat pedals start from 284 g per pair per pair with a (grade 5) titanium axle and 338 g with chromol steel axis. Aluminum versions (supplied silver, black and bronze) weigh 381 g with steel axes. Different pedal models have the following:
- -5 axle CNC made body
- -Ifly suitable for triple grip system (LSL-SAVANCE BULDER, needle bearing and closed ball bearing)
- -What lip stamps ensure
- – 16 mm thick with a 5mm concave for good grip and pedal sensation
- -10 stainless steel pins on one side (threaded pins loaded at the bottom 7 and 3 upper diamond studs)
- – Possible two platform sizes: 114 mm (length) x 2 width: narrow (100 mm) and width (107 mm)
- -Feyed and certified to the EFBE EPAC gravity Tri-Test® standard (Category 5).
- Note: Only the highest level Ceramag Ti pedals are: a) only in the narrow version, OB) certified for only 4 EFBA EPAC category (Titanium is simply milder than chromolar).
- Titanium axis renewal kits and full bearing replacement kits are available.
Clip pedals
The same axle and bearing system is also used in Leatt pedals without Clipless, which are in three models: Endurance Pedal has no platform, Allmtn has a small platform and gravity has a large platform. Each of them is offered in ceramagia versions, but with titanium axes only the endurance pedal can be purchased.
Everyone uses a SPD compatible system without clips (mucous membranes included with pedals). Weights range from 298 grams per pair of endurance Ceramag Ti to 520 grams of aluminum gravity pedals. The possible colors are Ceragrey, as well as silver, black and bronze for all versions of aluminum.
Stems
The Ceramag Ti stem is with titanium bolts to reduce weight 100 g 33 mm long, 103 g 40 mm and 111 g 50 mm. The stems can also be purchased with stainless steel bolts in both Keramage and aluminum versions, the latter weigh from 141 g. All stems have the following technology functions:
- -Intensive, 5-axle cnc-maching reduces weight and describes a distinctive Leatt aesthetics
- -Nulin -gap anterior plate and 210 °
- – The clogged face panel interface increases strength and facilitates installation
- -Exposition (65 mm) clamp platform for maximum control and accurate control
- – Round head bolts help protect the knees
- – Fruit pipe seal cap prevents dirt and garbage from entering the steering pipe
- -Feyed and certified to the EFBE EPAC gravity Tri-Test® standard (Category 5).
- – only 35 mm band diameter.
Handles
The Leatt’s Reflex 6.0 handles use a reaFlex gel-filled core-material widely used in Leatt’s thinnest pads. It helps motorcyclists throw a hand pump with its excellent vibration and increasing properties. Reflex has non-Newton’s characteristics, which means that it adapts the inhibition characteristics to the forces used-it is particularly effective in suppressing microvilations. Great advantage: Unlike other suggestions, all adhesion is not made of the same inhibition material, allowing the hand interface to be rubber density without affecting the inhibition or adhesion properties.
Currently, there is one profile offered by two diameter (regular 33/31 mm and thin 31/29 mm) and four colors. They have a variable diameter cone with more material on the outer edge, where more contacts are made, further reducing the pressure of the hand and increasing the inhibition. Soft, flexible ribs around the thumb and forefinger improve adhesion, preventing slipping. The semi -wave and triangular tread model provides additional fingertips and control. The influenza interface is soft, promising a good balance between touch and longevity. The integrated ends of the Guf Bar protection protect you, your handle, cars and walls.
The handle
Leatt made a Grip-Bar combination. The bars are nothing too special, but have a beautiful design with shooting and polished places (available in silver and black), tonal schedule and is a relatively light 7050 aluminum rod (284 grams). They have a “classic” 9 ° Backsweep and are available in 2 ups (38 mm / 23 mm), only 35 mm.
They come with the Reflex 6.0 handles (black/regular width). This is a good package of value at $ 119.99, CAD 159.99 and GBP 105. If you like rigid driving control bars, along with suppressing knobs to reduce microvilation and hand pump, this can be a good choice. They also have a wide clasp (100 mm) to handle well with your widest direct mountain stems. Leatt will have its own completely Cnced Aluminum Direct Mountain, which will be available later in July this year.
