The purpose of our speed test is to evaluate how quickly you can go during pedaling at each level of the dog 2 and class 3 and class settings. Let’s be honest-probably use a gas 99% time on e-bickel like this. But hey, he calls for debt, so I started speed tests anyway!

Results? Quite what I expected. Without motor help, the bike feels slow – a combination of its high weight and limited extension of the legs. Pro Tip: Always make sure you have enough battery! Driving this bike without help is not a picnic.

With an engine engagement, however, it’s a completely different story. In the class 2 mode, the bike quickly affects a 20 mph restriction, and I noticed that it occasionally pushes up to 23 mph before I settle down. In Class 3, the bike offers solid speeds and different levels, which makes it surprisingly comfortable for those who choose to pedal – even though let’s be real, most people probably won’t.

If you have watched the video view (and you should), you will see that I have tested both gas and unlimited ways, which have discovered two key laying:

First, it has a smooth acceleration. For the engine capable of high speeds, the acceleration curve is impressively gradual. Many fast e-bickel accelerate too aggressively, which can be overwhelming for less experienced riders. Not here. The butterfly takes you up to 20 mph in a way that feels controlled and managed. In addition, it offers decent modulation, so you can hover with lower speeds by not fully twisting it.

Second, off-road mode is an explosion! In the way out of the Road, the butterfly velocity for a bicycle butterfly reached an exciting 36 mph. DRT is a longer wheelbase – the longest of any Rev1 model – adds to its stability, which is why these high speeds feel exciting rather than sketched. Unlike other e-bicicals where hitting these speeds can become a dice, DRT feels planted and inspiring confidence.
