Ride1up Revv 1 FS Review
Ride1up website says Rev 1 is capable of traveling between 30-60 miles, with one charge of its 52V, 20 AH Samsung batteries. On the bike we made our standard range tests (see upper graphics) to evaluate that claim.
With Rev 1 in Dog 5, we achieved a result of 36.4 miles, which exceeded the lower end of the advertised Ride1up range. We were able to pedal 52.2 miles to Dog 1, which is slightly below the top figure, but still significant distance and still close enough to satisfy us!
A lot of factors affect the range, including speed, weather, terrain, the weight of the riders, etc.; Too much for our test. For this reason, the goal of our test in the real world is to get a figure with a ball, and we believe that the claims about Ride1up are well within the margin compared to our results.
Passing by numbers, Rev 1 seems to have a rather effective pairing of engine/battery. We prefer to see at least a 1-n-1 ratio between the nominal motor forces of the bicycle (750W, in this case) and the ratings of the watt-hour (wh) of his battery (Rev 1 has a 780 Wh Battery, which is weighted in a better direction). That, in theory, means that a bike could travel just over an hour in his maximum help environment. In our testing, which was again performed in class 2 mode, we traveled just over two hours.
Let’s talk more about the Rev 1 engine pairing. The vast majority of e-bicicals we tested have 48V systems, but Revv 1 is highlighted using 52V engines and batteries. This means that his engine requires more power to function, but also that his batteries store and deliver more energy to fulfill that request. It is also significant because it is an element that Rev 1 shares with juicy e-bickel, which are known for their power (and much higher price). Generally, 52V systems are faster but also more effective. The power delivered by 48V batteries usually give up because their cells lose charge, but this is usually far less pronounced with 52 V batteries. During our range tests, we had the opportunity to feel a bicycle ride and comfort level. I will discuss this in more detail later in this review of Ride1up Rev 1, but overall, we were very pleased. We have noticed that the Bafang 750W rear center engine is a bit noisy, but given the bicycle bike design, we don’t think it will annoy most riders.
Ultimately, we were seriously impressed with Rev 1 performance in our tests. The bike provides a solid range, especially if it is taken into account that its engine makes up 95-100% of heavy lifts. Even in its maximum setting (in class 2 mode), 30+ miles are a lot of foundations, and for those looking for a larger range, Ride1up plans to offer an opportunity for another battery that can be installed in a metal housing above the handles. This is an option we see more often on e-bicicles all over the board, so it’s great to see how riding1up continues the trend!
