Design
Max G2 looks very much like the original. It is designed for function, not a flash. Apart from some yellow wheels, the style is quite underestimated. I love the rear blade curve upwards, which holds a larger rear light. It allows a subtle retro vibra, like a car from the late 50s – only without chromium.
The rear wheel connects to the body with two large spring absorber. There is also a hydraulic absorber hits the front wheel, making the ride smoother.
One of the biggest upgrades is the addition of a control signal to the steering wheel. Transfer the switch, and the light orange ice flashes to show your direction. However, depending on your size, your body can block signals that drivers see them behind you.
I like that the turn signals are mounted high on the steering wheel. Other scooters I tested, like Glion Balto and Apollo, have them near the wheels. Ideally, the scooters should have signals in both places, but the steering setting seems more visible as a whole.
Like most segways, Max G2 has a simple screen in the middle of the steering wheel. Shows your speed, battery duration and other key information.
Max G2 is weighing – 53.5 pounds, to be precise. Wearing stairs is no. It is even heavier than the KQI3 Max, weighing 46.3 pounds.

Performance
The rear engine Max G2 of 1000 watts provides an abundance of power. It processed a hill of 6% of 11-12 mph and a steep 9% grade at 5-6 mph. His performance is very close to Niu Kqi3 Pro, which is my best choice for scooters.
I also loved the smooth Max G2 accelerate, even when I pushed the gas hard. It achieves perfect balance – not too aggressive, not too slow. The brakes are sensitive, but not unclear, so you will not feel like you will switch the steering wheel.

A 5.5 kilometers on hilly, 85 degrees used 25% of the battery. This left me an estimated range of 22 kilometers. Other rides gave me similar results. Although this is at the lower end of the segway assessment, it is quite typical of most electric scooters.

App and features
The pairing of electrical scooters with apps is becoming more frequent, and Max G2 is no exception. The Segway Ninebot app (available for Android and iOS) has some features that I hope will become standard on multiple scooters.
Max G2 includes two features against theft. First, you need to enter the code to start the scooter. Enter it wrong and the brakes are locked, making it difficult to move. Second, it supports the Apple Find My, so you can monitor the scooter if stolen. The monitoring was true in my tests, letting me paying attention to it all day.
The application also allows you to adjust regenerative braking and towing control. Regenerative braking does not add much battery, but it’s a nice bonus. I did not test the control control because I did not drive in the rain.

Price and availability

Final thoughts
Max G2 (second gene) comes with great upgrades for better driving. Although the range is similar to the original (mine was at the lower end of the segway assessment), I was impressed with its smooth handling and convenient features such as the turning signal and the built -in Apple Find My. Accordingly, Max G2 is a heavy compromise for a great battery life.
